BBAT1 576x1024 Development of motor skills

“Martial Arts helps students get better grades”.   How many of you have heard this?

This paper was just published recently.    http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0161960

It is a lot of science but this part of the conclusion sums it up: “The fact that motor skills were positively correlated to performance in all domains of both cognitive and academic tests suggest that it is important to focus on general motor skill development in schoolchildren.”

Martial Arts training is one of the best ways to improve both gross motor skills and fine motor skills.  Combined with an environment that stresses confidence, overcoming challenges and being successful, the training is a major factor in the child’s growing up to have a happy and successful life.
